Social media is a computer-based network that enables people to interact with friends and families through an internet connection.Social Media sites are the most visited website in comparison to any other websites.People chat and share pictures, videos, audios, views, opinions, activities, etc.It becomes an addiction when people start to spend more and more time on social networking sites.They become obsessed with updating their status and check in to view the number of Likes and comments.People undergo emotional depression as a result of social media addiction.Children begin to lose interest in studies and lack of concentration.Adults start showing low productivity at work.It would help if people take time out for self-reflection and curb their desire to checkin social networking sites.People can curb their social media addiction if they take control of their actions.

My school is Maliyadeva College. My school was started on September 30, 1888. It is a Buddhist school in Sri Lanka. It was also directed by Henry Steele Olcott. My school is one of the most popular schools in Sri Lanka. It is also a national school. Our motto is "Knowledge is a jewel to man". Our school teaches from grade 1 to grade 13 and there are 350 staff. There are many talents in the fields of arts, commerce, science, mathematics and sports. 6500 students are studying. Our school has contributed the largest number of officers to the Sri Lanka Armed Forces and the Police. It's an honor. Sigiriya is one of the famous and most attractive place in sri lanka.sigiriya means lion's rock. Hight of the rock is around 200 meters. According to the history of sri lanka this rock used as akindom in sri lanka by king kashyapa in 5th century. This rock is One of the UNESCO heritages in sri lanka. Sigiriya kingdom consists with all ruins such as flower gardens , lake , caves etc.. Sigiriya is strong evidence that ancient Sri Lanka had many advanced technologies .Most of the people climb sigiriya in order to watch drawing of maidens. These are very beautiful ❤️

DRUG MENACE
Drug menace has become a burning problem in sri lanka today. the number of drug addicts is increasing day by day.
Some of thesse drugs are cannibis,heroin,brown sugar,cocaine,LSDand marijuna. it appears that the most widely used drug is heroin. drug addition is fast spreading in urban areas of our country. Acooarding to the police reports 50% of all crimes in Sri Lanka are drug related.Dope peddlars earn a large sum of money through this business.
Thee drug addicts think only their temporary satisfaction.They never realise itts harmful effects. When a person takes drugs he adruptly become insane.He does not know who he is and what he is doing . He can not identify even his own brothers and sisters . It is said that even school children are addicted to drugs.This is a very sad state of affairs.
At present counselling cemters have been set up in several government hospitals to give free advice and tratments for drug addicts. Special programmess nust be implemented throughout the country in order to make all keenly aware of the harmful effects of the drugs.
The government alone can not solve this problem.All the social services organisations and voluntary organisations must extend their co-operation towards the government to eradicate the drug meance.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION.
Environment means every thing around us. There are three main components of the environment such as land, water and air. Of course this is due to pass development. increasing population is thevmain reason for the pollution. This is mainly due to deforestation and dumping of garbage into the environment and unauthorized constructions.
Air pollution is caused by reasons like forest fire, nuclear tests, Various human activities and industrialization beings are a part of the environment. Therefore, the destruction of the environment means the destruction of the man kind. It is our responsibility to protect our surroundings.
IMPORTANCE OF DHAMMA SCHOOL
EDUCATION.
There are two ways of giving Dhamma education in our ountry. One system is teaching in schools and the other way is teaching religion in Sunday schools.The second system is very useful and effective than the first system because of the timea llocated for this is comparatively higher than the first system.Dhamma school education is very important due to several reasons. It is obvious that students learn many subjects in theschool but good customs and values are learned in Sunday schools mainly. There is a great difference between two children who attends Sunday school and one who does not attend.When children learn in religious places the serenity of such places makes them well disciplined.
Our future generations must be directed to Dhamma education !
